This Hunter Guide forms part of the comprehensive ADL build guide that covers everything you need to know for progressing through the Archer job tree.

Congrats on reaching Hunter. You’re one step closer to becoming an absolute DPS beast.

The Hunter

The Hunter is the 2nd Job in the Archer tree. Once you change to Hunter your Job level will reset. You will now level your job level again up to 40 before changing to Sniper.

Stats

Previously in the Archer guide we recommended splitting your stat allocation to a 3:2 Dex Agi ratio. Now that you’re a Hunter you’ll have a bit more stats to work with.

With more stats and a reasonable amount of damage and atk speed you can start investing in Luk for some crit chance. Every 3 Luk will increase crit by 1. Again, there are many ways you can allocate your Hunter stats.

A 3:2:1 ratio is a good start (Eg. 30 Dex, 20 Agi, 10 Luk).

Note: Critical hits deal 200% damage (without +Crit Dmg stats) and ignore enemy defense.

Skills

As a Hunter, you will have a total of 40 Skill points to allocate. The below are the recommended skill allocations:

SkillLevelNotes

Improve Concentration
(Passive)
10+10 Agi
+10 Dex

Blitz Beat
(Passive)
10Wild Beast has 5% Chance to deal Neutral Dmg (Ignore Def)

Beastmastery
(Passive)
5+30 Beast Dmg

Splitting Arrows
(Active)
5380% Dmg to target plus 75% Dmg to 4 more nearby enemy targets

Heavy Arrow
(Active)
10500% Dmg to target. Target takes +30% Auto Atk Dmg by Archers for 10 secs

Although you wont be using Splitting Arrows, Level 5 is required to unlock Heavy Arrow. Heavy arrow can be quite useful for doing additional damage to Boss monsters.

As for order of importance:

  1. Improve Concentration (Max First)
  2. Blitz Beat
  3. Beast Mastery
  4. Splitting Arrows
  5. Heavy Arrow

Equipment

You won’t be overflowing with zeny quite yet. But here are some cost effective upgrades you can make during your time as a Hunter.

If you were using Saint’s gear keep using them. They will do fine for now. Once you reach Sniper we will talk about progressing towards your end game set.

Converters & Buffs
You will want to start making use of elemental converters (Metaller – Mystic Frozen, Dustiness – Great Nature), meal dishes and food buffs to speed up your leveling/farming.

Metaller & Dustiness
These are the two primary monsters you will want to focus on. They both have a great EXP/HP ratio and will help you reach Sniper asap.

Orc Archers
You can try farming these towards the later part of your Hunter journey. However many players will not have the damage output to efficiently farm them yet.

Once you Reach Sniper, that’s when you want to head over to Orc Village. But until then, Dustiness in Prontera North is your best bet.

A Few Tips

  1. Don’t forget about Guild Donations, it’s a total marathon.
  2. Speaking of long term, the same applies to Friendship Proof.
  3. Level 52? Don’t forget about your weekly Endless Tower runs
  4. Catch a Pet. A Yoyo (+5% Atk Speed) will do for now.

You will roughly be between Base Level 40-70 as a Hunter.

Once you hit Job Level 40, it’s time for the exciting part. Sniper!
