So you’ve decided to play the Mage in Ragnarok Mobile. This comprehensive guide is part of a series that will cover the Mage, Wizard, High Wizard and Warlock.

Congratulations on picking the best farming class in Ragnarok Mobile. Whether its as a main or as an alt your powerful AoE spells will make your character a farming beast.

To help you along the way we’re going to cover stat distribution, skill choice, recommended leveling (grinding/farming) locations and gear progression.

The Mage

The Mage is the first job in the tree that we’re going to cover. You’ll quickly pass through this job. But getting things right from the beginning will make your progression easier and faster.

Stats

Mage stats are very simple. Just allocate all points into Int.

Skills

As an Archer, you will have a total of 40 Skill points to allocate. The below are the recommended skill allocations:

OrderSkillLevelNotes
1
Soul Strike
(Active)
10Single Target Spell
2
Increase Spiritual Recovery
(Active)
10SP Regen

Yup, these are the only two skills you will need (more on this in the farming section).

With the remaining 20 Skill Points just make sure you allocate at least 1 point into Fire Bolt, Cold Bolt and Lightning Bolt (this will make your job change quest easier).

You can allocate the remaining points however you like (maxing Ring of Fire is generally a good choice though I didn’t really use it).

If you’ve missed it don’t forget to get Play Dead. It will be useful once you hit Wizard.

Equipment

Use Saint’s Equipment if you have them. Otherwise you can grab a set of the basic gear listed below:

Piercing Staff [1]
(Weapon - Staff)
5x Iron
100x Jellopy

Alright this will do for now, don’t get too attached (except for Mage Coat and Piercing Staff) most of your gear will soon be replaced.

Accessories
Accessories are quite expensive early on. If you aren’t lucky enough to have a Saint Ring feel free to put off filling this equip slot for now.

The INT Earrings you are after are only rewarded from the Level 40 Rift however you can still complete some of the earlier rifts and sell off the drops for some extra zeny:

  • Level 15 – West Gate Rift (Flower Ring)
  • Level 30 – Underwater Cave Rift (Gloves, Brooch)
  • Level 40 – Sograt Desert Rift (Glove, INT Earring, VIT Necklace)

Leveling/Farming

You will roughly be between Base Level 10-40 as a Mage.

The recommended spot for leveling is Rockers in Labyrinth Forest. Whilst Wormtails do offer a higher EXP/HP ratio the density and spawn rate of Rockers means you can use Stay Alert and farm at an incredibly fast pace.

Here’s what to do. Start with Soul Strike. Once you deal 500 damage you will be able to one shot the Rockers.

As you level and pump your Int stat at some point your auto attack will be able to 1-hit the Rockers. Switch to just auto attacking once you are able to do this and sit in this spot until you are ready to change to Wizard.

Base Level 15? Unlock Mission Board Quest
Base Level 20? Unlock the Assistant
Base Level 21? Unlock Training Ground
Base Level 30? Get your first Pet.

Once you hit Job Level 40, it’s time to change to Wizard.
