The EP5.0 Midnight Party adds the new Niflheim map to Ragnarok Mobile. Along with it comes a new set of monsters. Let’s take a look at whether they are worth farming.
New Niflheim Monsters
Below are a list of new monsters you will encounter in the Niflheim maps. We will be looking at the regular mobs, the ones for grinding. Hence the table does not include the new MVP monsters.
Monster | Level | Size | Race/Property | Weakness | (Base+Job Exp)/HP | Location |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Quve | 124 | Small | Undead/Undead | Fire, Holy | 0.015 | Misty Forest |
Hylozoist | 125 | Small | Demon/Shadow | Holy | 0.015 | Hamelin Skellington |
Gibbet | 126 | Large | Demon/Shadow | Holy | 0.016 | Hamelin Misty Forest |
Dullahan | 127 | Medium | Undead/Undead | Fire, Holy | 0.015 | Hamelin Misty Forest |
Lude | 129 | Small | Undead/Undead | Fire, Holy | 0.014 | Hamelin Skellington |
Tomb Zombie | 130 | Medium | Demi-Human/Poison | Holy | 0.014 | Misty Forest |
Scarecrow | 132 | Medium | Plant/Earth | Fire | 0.014 | Skellington |
From the table above we can see that the Base + Job Exp / HP ratio of the new monsters aren’t anything special. For comparison Orc Lady, Penomena and Harpy have a ratio of 0.048, 0.024 and 0.02 respectively.
This is likely due to the new monsters being higher level and hence would also have higher HP. Therefore if you were basing it on Exp alone, these new monsters would be better for farming when you can one/two shot them ie when their HP doesn’t affect your kill speed.
Note, this is just a quick overview. You may want to consider their Base/Job exp ratio. This would make a difference, especially once you hit Base Level.
Tip: Make sure to use the right cards to boost damage against the race/property of the monsters you are farming
The Loot
Ok, now lets take a look at the loot. Below are a list of Card prices for each new monster. Additionally we have listed their “primary drop”. This is what generally makes up the bulk of your loot when farming monsters.
Monster | Card Value | Item Name | Item Value |
---|---|---|---|
Quve | G S | Black Veil | G S |
Hylozoist | G S | Black Veil | G S |
Gibbet | G S | Hypnotic Log | G S |
Dullahan | G S | Rotting Rope | G S |
Lude | G S | Green Slime | G S |
Tomb Zombie | G S | Rotting Rope | G S |

Loot Prices
Upon Update Release
Global has only recently launched Episode 5, therefore the new loot prices will be quite unstable (and overpriced) initially. Looking at SEA prices can give us an idea as to where prices may move towards.
Notable Cards
As for cards, Scarecrow Card stands out from the rest. This is likely due to the fact that the card provides additional damage to Undead. Which is quite useful as many of the new mobs are Undead type.
Primary Drops
As for the primary drops, none of the alternatives stand out in particular. Although Hypnotic Log may sell for more than others, this is only because the drop rate is considerably lower than the other items on the list.
What to Farm
Level Focused
If you are more concerned about levels, go ahead and farm the monster that gives you the most exp. This would typically be the highest level monster that you can kill quickly (1-2 shot). However take note of the level gap penalty.
Loot Focused
If you are at the initial update stage where prices of primary drops have yet to sink towards its long term low points then farm the monsters that gives the highest value in drops.
This would typically be anything except Hypnotic log, as the additional zeny per drop is unlikely to make up for its much lower drop rate.
Tip: At initial update release you may want to farm a bit of each material. The low demand for these materials means having a bunch of one type will take too long to sell.
Monster Density and Spawn Rate
If you are farming primary materials your loot amount will greatly be affected by monster spawn rate and density.
Out of all the monsters I have farmed so far, I’d have to except for Quve the rest have quite good spawn rate and density. Tomb Zombie has the greatest density, you will see a lot of them hanging out in The Misty Forest.
Your farming results may differ depending on the class/build you play and your latency. Best way to find out is to test all the different mobs. Happy Hunting 😀
